Learn the new way to evaluate media and teach the process to your students. CPDUs available. Please register before noon on Wednesday, November 3.
We live in a time of information overload where cries of “fake news” have become the norm, inaccurate memes are weaponized, and journalism and science are doubted. Discover why we're all vulnerable to believing and sharing disinformation. Find out how schools and libraries can complement one another to teach our service communities the tools to navigate the information they encounter online, to restore confidence in authoritative sources, and to frame media literacy more effectively. The techniques shared in this session draw from the latest research in cognitive science, political communication, and media literacy education.
