Meet one-on-one for 30 minutes with a Citizens Utility Board (CUB) counselor to review your electric, gas, and phone bills to get advice on reducing your costs. Appointments encouraged!

Citizens Utility Board (CUB) and Lake Villa District Library are hosting a free event to advise residents on reducing electric, gas, and both landline and cell phone bills.

Each participant will speak one-on-one with a CUB counselor to review their bills.

At CUB's clinic, you will receive information on:

  • Spotting unnecessary charges on natural gas, electric, and phone bills.
  • Energy efficiency programs and rebates that can help lower your utility bills.
  • Decoding your gas and electric bill, spotting errors, and avoiding scams.
  • Your options when it comes to phone, TV, and internet.
  • Utility rates, and making the right choices in the electric and gas markets.

First established in 1949, Lake Villa District Library serves Lake Villa Township and those who live within the township’s boundaries; including the communities of Lake Villa, Lindenhurst, portions of Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights and Antioch. The population served is approximately 40,000.
