LVDL's monthly book discussion that meets on the second Saturday of each month. Copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk.

This month’s title is Mercury Pictures Presents by Anthony Marra. 

Maria Lagana rewrites scripts at Mercury Pictures, re-crafting dialogue and action to circumvent the censors. As a teenager in Italy, Maria witnessed Mussolini's censors arrest her father. Maria has come to Hollywood to outrun her past. Despite its cheap production values and factory-approach to making movies, Mercury Pictures is a nexus of refugees and emigres. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, everything changes in Maria’s world, forcing her come to terms with her father's fate--and her own.

First established in 1949, Lake Villa District Library serves Lake Villa Township and those who live within the township’s boundaries; including the communities of Lake Villa, Lindenhurst, portions of Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights and Antioch. The population served is approximately 40,000.
