A representative from the State Treasurer’s Office will help you find out if you have any missing money or assets. Typically, 1 in 4 people who use the I-Cash service will find lost assets.
The Illinois State Treasurer is holding more than 5 billion dollars in unclaimed funds for Illinoisans. The State holds these lost funds until they are claimed by either the original owner or their heirs. Property is returned at no cost with proper documentation. The State Treasurer's Office representative will work with community members to start the claim process. They will also provide information on several other Treasurer’s Office programs such as Bright Start – a College Savings Plan, IL ABLE and Secure Choice.
