In the Spring of 1950, Agatha Christie accompanied her husband, archeologist Max Mallowan to Iran and the tells of Kalhu; the ancient city also known as Nimrud.  It is April the 2nd, 1950, in the desert of northern Iraq. Today is the day that Agatha Christie begins her autobiography; a project that would take her 20 years to complete. What inspired her to begin it? Perhaps it was a visit from you.

First established in 1949, Lake Villa District Library serves Lake Villa Township and those who live within the township’s boundaries; including the communities of Lake Villa, Lindenhurst, portions of Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights and Antioch. The population served is approximately 40,000.
